    Hey

Just wondering has anyone any experience working as Traffic Control in Australia? Or any construction type jobs? What's the deal with insurance, is it sorted though the company you work for? Trying to sort out backpacker trav insurance and no one seems to cover this type of work!

Travel insurance insures you and your belonging when travelling. It's nothign to do with insurance.

You are covered by your companies policy when working. If you have an accident at work, the company covers it. What made you think you have to provide your own insurance?

Additionally, in construction jobs, you are also covered by "workcover". A health and safety organisation.
Thats why you do a safety course regarding construction work (white card) and antoher one specific to traffic controlling.

The exception is a sole trader obviously, as they don't have employers.

    True.

I worked in the construction and Traffic control areas and was covered by my employers insurance while working. Just make sure you keep all the licenses with you at all times! Police are known to try find faults with a TC
