    i'd prefer a pacey striker in JD up front and not a makeshift one in VDV.

    FFS. That's not how it's supposed to happen. Van Persie is supposed to come back injured, not VDV! Still, I don't think it's the end of the world as Defoe will relish the chance to prove that he can put them away while VDV is out.

    Would minor warrant 1 - 2 weeks out? It'd be great if he was fit to face Villa on Monday.

    grade 1 back in 10 - 14 days, with a bit of luck he could make villa game. Not the worst game for him to miss though.
