receiving texts without credit?

Hi all, I apologise if this is a stupid question, but I don't live in Ireland so I'm not sure how all that works there. I've a friend that lives there though, and wondering if they would still receive a text even if they haven't any credit on their account? And/or would this also depend on the service provider? Hi all,

Generally receiving texts is free.

Examples of possible complications would be (a) phone switched off (b) phone not topped up for 6 months (c) phone is roaming outside the Irish mobile phone area (d) phone inbox is full (e) phone has no signal (f) they are ignoring you.
