Cork to get its ‘own passport’ under plan from FG councillor

A Fine Gael councillor has proposed a ‘Cork passport’ to let people of Corkonian heritage show their pride in their rebel county background – and potentially raise some money for the county too.

The cost for the ‘passport’ is not yet known but McGonigle suggests it could be similar to the price of the Certificate of Irish Heritage, which costs €40.

This will probably be eventually rolled out across every other town in the country as some form of Idiot tax to those that apply for them. :p

Would it not just be easier just to have this personalised feature incorporated into the new driving license.

Customizable passports!? Where do I sign!

But seriously...you use you're passport how often?

Good idea, the rest of the country could then impose visa requirements. :)

But are not Corkonians already known by their superior air of excellence anyway?

As long as they have to hand in their Irish passports at the same time I'm all in favour. ;)

Why stop at Cork? The entire Munster area should get these passports and then we can close the borders to the rest of the country and control the amount of Munster people among the non-inbred Irish people.

    What utopia are you from?

Wow another thread for the Cork bashers to have a go.

Anyway its a bit of a ridiculous idea coming of the back of Irish Heritage Cert. It might make a nice novelty gift for someone but i cant see this raising huge amounts of money.

 only be of any use in Ireland so are we saying that Corkonians are the only ones daft/silly (edit or add to those) to buy these

Can you imagine US border control looking at one of these and saying "on you go" :D

But we could turn back any holders of these Cork passports at the Portlaoise toll (after charging them the toll).
