Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

An album, book and film that sums you up

I believe that all three of these are a good indicator of what sort of person you are (I'm not saying that in terms of being a good or bad). They can help you connect with people and give you a general (ok, shallow) indication of what that person is like.

    I'll go first

Album - Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan
Book - The Autobiography of Malcolm X
    Film - High Fidelity

I'm sorry to be a party pooper - but an album or film or book can not even begin to sum a person up.
    It just makes no sense.
I never understand questions like "what animal are you most like?" or "what colour are you?"
They make no effing sense at all!

So do these describe you or do you just think they're cool?

Or else maybe I'm just a little bored so I came up with something to pass some time.

I could go through each of things to justify my decision to name those particular things, but in short, yes I do think they describe me. And no I didn't put them down to look cool.

If anything they make me look a little more straight faced than I am in reality.

I'd like to hear more about how an autobiography of one of the major figures from the Nation of Islam fighting for civil rights in in the 60s United States is a good indicator of what a person who posts of boards is like.

    Thread Title
    Two translations available:
"Name your favourite album, book and film."
"Name an album, book and film that you'd associate with yourself to look good."

Ridiculous idea tbh. It's sort of like those stupid "What *random inanimate object* are you?" quizzes that used to be all the rage on Bebo.

The book isn't about Islam, America or the 60's. Sure they are all important but its about the man, and his journey. I find him inspiring and appreciate someone who has grown and evolved his philosophy throughout his life until he accepted that anger, bitterness and separation were causing nothing but pain.

I would say the book is a good example of some of the beliefs I hold, particularly that people change, out of necessity, and out of a willingness to better oneself.

    Is that enough for you?
