Got a text from someone who is in line. They were handing out pit numbers around 450 after 9 o clock this morning.

How many fit in the pit? 4 or 5k?

Yes there will be food in there, outside the ptich area, will be expensive of course but you'll get something.

Red route is definitely on Simmonscourt road - after that I can't help ya

I'm wondering as well. I wasn't overly close to the stage, but no problems where I was too! I have heard mixed reports however, so there must have been areas with poor sound.

How far back were you? We were about half way between the stage and the sound mixing setup and never noticed any sound issue.

I was just behind the golden circle, at the first speaker stacks. I had some friends who floated around the back and they all said the sound was bang on so it was a real strange one that it was so low up front.

Really looking forward to tonight - Anyone else have the feeling this could be a farewell tour - I know he usually plays long gigs but close to four hours is unreal :D

Wonder will the opening song be who'll stop the rain??

Just to confirm, the last time i was there for a Springsteen gig we queued in the courtyard across the road behind the stage and came in an entrance just to the left of the stage, is the same this year?

I'm so jealous of you all. Was trying to figure out a way to get to one of the RDS gigs (after Hyde Park) but stupid work is getting in the way.

    Enjoy it everyone!!

He seems to have more energy on stage now than he did in his middle-age. Mind you, from reading Clarence's book 'Big Man', it seemed that there was more medics in the road crew than roadies, given the age of the band. I think Nils has bad knee or leg problems, and needs a lot of support to keep him out there for the gigs.

Nope - no clouds over Dublin this evening. Rain will come in overnight, after we've all gone home.

Yeah Bruce's energy is still phenomenal and I can still see him touring and performing for a few more years yet - maybe like the Seeger sessions, but think this could be a farewell tour from the E Street band. The last time they played Dublin, Bruce mentioned a hip-op for Nils I think..

    Hopefully weather stays clear

They're doing that? What time do you they stop giving out the numbers? And what time do you have to be back to actually get in to get your pit wristband?

Can I drive from work to the RDS, get a number, and then come back after work and get into the pit - is what I'm wondering.

My God what a miserable wench.

the longer the better, and yes I have seen a band play for 4 hours, and no I didn't get bored, even my mates who didn't know the music that well, where not bored. Also nobody is making you stay, if you want 2 hours, then leave after 2

It's part of the whole modern culture I guess - these people have short attention spans and can't seem to appreciate anything......sad really

"Never mind the danger that a breach of curfew could have led to the removal of their licence."

The removal of a licence for a gig that was over?

"Never mind the public health and safety concerns."

wtf? Whose health was in danger by letting the lads finish their set? Who was in danger or unsafe?

Seriously hope common sense will prevail tonight.

Yes, if you're hoping to get into the pit you'll be disappointed if you're not in the queue already. Under no accounts should anyone try to join. Enjoy the day, have a few pints instead. In fact if you are at the end of the queue just leave now, you're wasting your time.
