How to transfer music from Ipod touch to Itunes library

Hi there,

I have an old ipod touch with lots of good tunes that a friend loaded to it. I want to transfer those songs to my itunes in the Macbook, but I don't know how to do it. If I Synch the ipod i think what would happen is that the library from itunes will substitute the music in the ipod touch. Am I right?
Is there a way to do what I want?

I would really appreciate your help. I always feel like such a dummy when I'm trying to work out this things...

Oops. That's PC software. Maybe if you can access a pc you can use it?

sharepod is not longer free.
and bu.mp is joining into Google.
any free software to achieve this problem?
