Well a long day at the agm and the awards night. great to see the Lucan club there. Johnny Priest, Brendan, Ro, Ciaran Leahy etc. Talked to (at perhaps!) ryan Mullen and Javan and Daragh Z. .Great young lads. Stephen Mc in good shape despite his accident. Lovely also to talk to the Club of the year cycle for sick children. really good. Dec did a great job on the mic. got to talk to a load of people including a few of the people on here..no names! had dinner with world champ Colin Lynch nice lad but I beat him wolfing down the grub!!!!

All licences went up by €5 despite the initial proposal only being for a few licences, leisure, club comp. IT was a result of the delegates making an amendment to the proposal. The money will be used for an Event safety officer to help clubs mitigate as much risk as possible when running races hopefully resulting in lower insurance costs.

Permission to co-opt 2 specialist posts was approved but has to be given the thumbs up by RevCom.

John Horgan was elected and I was re-elected. officers can only serve a max of 3 terms 6 years so I am out after this...thanks be to jeebus!!!

It was heartening to hear people say that they didnt realise how much was going on re Sprocket rocket and now Gearing up , the mtb leaders awards (starting soon) and the use of BCF info for Level 2 coaching awards.

Just to mention the figure quoted on stickybottle for website and advertising is incorrect it should be 116k and this includes the cost to us for the Dublin crit - 77k. the website cost 16k. We have also produced some really good booklets for youngsters getting into the sport. Contact the office if you would like one

It was disappointing to see a low turnout at the AGM and all the commission agms reported only the commissioners were present. If anybody has any ideas then fire them at me! maybe some tigers, naked lads and lasses on the side of the stage???

I think the 3 terms rule only started from yesterday Anto. So you've got 6 more years if you're so inclined...

I wouldn't worry too much about the low turnouts morana - members tend to turn up to AGMs when they've something to complain about. I work for a major quoted company and we probably get less than half a dozen "ordinary" shareholders turning up to the AGM each year. It's nice to think the members care about what goes on at the AGM, but they have the option of postal votes to exercise their democratic rights

    Ditto Morana
I'm a director of a company and we get record turnouts at times of crisis but when everyone is happy there is one man and his dog.......
