Hi, i have been given some left over solid flooring from a friend which is more than enough for my sitting room. This has been in my friends hall for 3 years now so had plenty of time to breath there. Do you think that i will need to leave it some time to breath now in my house or should it be ok to lay in the next few days? Thanks

If there are significant differences in humidity levels between the two houses then you should acclimatise the flooring to your situation.
There probably is a significant difference between the humidity where the boards were stored and where they are going, because halls are less likely to be heated than sitting rooms. I would be inclined to give them at least three days in the 'new' location with the heat on, before laying.

Thats great! yeah, i would think out house is probably a lot warmer than the hall the wood had been sitting in. Thanks for the advice :)
