    Is there a way to turn off the coment boxes that pop up when you mouse over a thread title?

    They're a part of your browser settings, not something boards can change. Look up "disable tooltips" for whatever browser you use. it's not always possible afaik.
    For firefox, i think you need to use a Greasemonkey script, not sure about other browsers

    Hold on, how big are they? They only show the first line of the Thread so are usually very small.

    1 Inch high, 3 Inchs long would be the max generally.

    What Browser are you using?

    they are several lines in size, made even bigger by accessibility software, meaning they take up the whole screen.

    Unfortunately Roland is correct. There is no way to disable them.
