Laptop for €500?

Hi,

Looking for a good laptop spec wise for around €500. Online or in store ok, preferably in Leinster somewhere! Plus needed well before xmas.
Laptop is for a student so needs decent RAM and Hard Drive.

Love some suggestions please!!

The prices are fairly reflected of the specs. CPU wise they are all similar but RAM does vary from 4-8GB. Try and drop into Harvey Norman/PC World or where-ever and check out the screen/keyboard before you make a purchase.

The i3 is a good processor yes? Think the one with the biggest RAM and storage will be the dealbreaker, make it nice and quick for multitasking?

Yes the i3 is a very good processor. It's a little confusing though as Intel have i3's from different years. I believe the 380m is the older model but it's not much slower than the 2300 series, except maybe in the graphics department.
The extra RAM should help the machine age better. Usually they get slower as more and more apps are installed and run in the background.

I wouldn't be too keen on the AMD PII due to battery life. If battery life isn't a problem then it might be worth considering. The newer AMD A series is better in that regard but they are more expensive as they have better integrated graphics than Intel.

that code should work on all the laptops on LW site so you might see something better..think the code works on everthing ,but i dont know for how long

Anyone know if the samsung one would be any good running photoshop?

Have a lot of photos I'd like to work on and was wondering if a dedicated graphics card would make much of a difference.
