Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, is there a way to unlock an iphone 4 so that I can use it on another network, without going through O2? I'm not very technical at all. If I 'jailbreak' it would that mean I could use an emobile sim on a phone that's locked to O2? Can't get it unlocked through O2.

it depends on what firmware it is on, if it is on anything <=4.0.2 then yes you can unlock

you can find out by going to setting->general->about->version.

Software unlocks only work on certain basebands, I'd request the official unlock if possible
The current supported baseband versions for 3G/3GS for this unlock tool are 4.26.08, 5.11.07, 5.12.01, 5.13.04, and 6.15.00. The only current supported baseband for iPhone 4 GSM is 1.59.00. (The "baseband" version is called the "modem firmware" version in the iPhone Settings app.)

Hi, thanks for the replys, I'm so sorry but this is all very confusing for me. My version is 4.2.1. Can this be unlocked to use another sim in it without going through O2? I've read through the sticky but find it a bit confusing, Sorry!!!
Is there somewhere I can bring it that will do it for me?

you can only unlock the iPhone 4's with gevey sim or full factory unlock.
It is very rare that you will find an iPhone 4 with a ultrasn0w compatible baseband. You don't need to jailbreak your phone in order to use gevey or to get it full factory unlocked.

    Ultrasn0w compatible versions are:

    04.26.08
    05.11.07
    05.12.01
    05.13.04
    06.15.00
    01.59.00 for iPhone 4

    Gevey Sim Compatible Versions are:
    02.10.04
    03.10.01
    04.10.01
