peta have come out saying that computer games where animals are killed promotes it, such as in battlefield 3 or skyrim where you kill a rat.

They have also said mario promotes the wearing of fur as you must wear racoon skin to fly. They have made a game where you chase mario to get your skin back.

    http://features.peta.org/mario-kills-tanooki/
(Warning game contains scenes of graphic frustration :pac:)
When on a mission to rescue the princess, Mario has been known to use any means necessary to defeat his enemy—even wearing the skin of a raccoon dog to give him special powers.

Tanooki may be just a "suit" in Mario games, but in real life, tanuki are raccoon dogs who are skinned alive for their fur. By wearing Tanooki, Mario is sending the message that it's OK to wear fur. Play Super Tanooki Skin 2D and help Tanooki reclaim his fur!

So do you think they are crazy or agree in any way?
Personally I can't believe they are serious and are more deluded than ever as an organisation.

Usually admire PETA, but I'm not sure that I agree with this.

I'm all against animal cruelty but I think PETA are nutjobs. It's groups like these that would make some people think badly of vegetarians or vegans.

PETA are a woeful organisation. They're more interested in promoting themselves than actually saving animals.

I'm doing my part for animal cruelty by not playing video games ¬_¬
    Ridiculous stuff by peta imo.

And the more we talk about it, the more self inflated their egos become!!

They always take things too far. Sadly.

That being said, it's mostly only the nutjobs that do this sort of stuff, not all of their members are a bit loony lol.

You kill people in those games too, that doesn't mean it's promoting murder, does it?

PETA go so over the top it's ridiculous.

I'm somewhat releaved to know that the vegans/veggies of voards.ie have mroe sense than to side with PETA.
The idea that mario promotes fur by wearing a raccoon costume is crazy.
Wasn't there a frog suit in the water levels too, that'll be the target next.

Total nonsense from PETA as usual. They really go out of their way to make us vegans look like morons.

I admire everybody who will stand up and try to take action against cruelty towards animals.

Real animals are suffering every day, and these nutjobs decide that the best use of their time is badmouthing a computer game?
    Ridiculous.

I must admit, I often throw turtles at other motorists after playing Mario Kart, PETA are dead right about this :o

IMO PETA are using animal cruelty for self-servicing publicity. I would not like to he associated with them despite sharing the same ethos as them in regards to animal cruelty.

Their last few publicity stunts such as their planned pornography site and now this makes me wonder what on earth they're thinking!

Such brash statements only alienates people from the actual message they should be conveying. I wouldn't even use PETA as a resource due to their bias and propaganda!

No surprise PETA came out with this.

PETA by saying crap like this are exposing themselves for what they really are, self righteous nutjobs.
