The time is almost upon us and to prevent my pipes freezing again, I have planned to wrap heater tape around them and insulate them.
Does anyone know where in Limerick/Ennis this tape can be got?

I take it it can't be got here then?
Or no one's heard of it?

Well, I managed to find a German guy living in the area who can supply me with said tape, it comes with a thermostat that switches on as soon as the water reaches a certain temperature.
Once this tape is wrapped around the water pipes plus insulation, it doesn't matter how cold it gets and for how long, my pipes will not freeze!
I tried a few plumbing supply shops, but no joy, seems a lot of the country will have no water again if it gets cold.

C'mon, SOMEONE here must have heard of this stuff?

I have seen it advertised around Carlow recently. I'd dig up the ads but they're lying in a recycling skip somewhere.

Edit : found it (without rooting around the skip) :D

Cool, that's about the same price as the German guy quoted me, good to have a price comparison.
The real fun bit is going to dig up the pipe, bye bye lovely, graveled pathway!

Plenty of wire type kits for 60 euros odd around Galway ?

Is the tape stuff cheaper ?
