    anyone know if you can postpone an admission onto a course for a yr?

    Do you mean deferring a course you have already accepted or taking a leave of absence from a course?

    sorry i should clarify that, i'm hoping to get accepted for a course that starts in sep but for personal reasons i may think about deferring my admission for a yr.

    It shouldn't be a problem, OP. Just don't accept the course via the CAO (this causes all sorts of problems for administration), but go visit the Kremlin in person, and hand in a letter with your intentions and the reasons why you wish to defer.

    As far as I have ever known, the university have been very sympathetic with such cases, but I doubt they would entertain a deferral for anything less than family or financial or health reasons nevertheless - especially with competition for places increasing.
