510 280mah manual - cutoff?

hi - just got this today. fully charged batteries. after about 5 secs of using device (pressing button) led will blink and cutout. thought that there was no cutoff time on the manual 510 battery? (says so on site)

Mention it to the site ya bought it off, they all seem to offer good customer care.
Never had a 510, 5 secs seems very short.
