Also will it work down here or would it have to be unlocked?

Haven't really narrowed down a model yet, just curious as to where is the cheapest place to look first.

Very little saving, keep the money in the country ;)

There's no reason it wouldn't or couldn't be made work on any network here. May require a flash & unlock which could do away with any cost saving. Usually if there's a fault with the phone here in the first few weeks you can simply go back into a store and get it exchanged.

The best saving your going to get right now on a phone is the sony xperia play on vodafone or o2. If you can stretch it's about 179 or less, lot of phone for the money and it can be unlocked to work on which ever network you want.

If you want to save big, it's now about €350 cheaper than it was a few weeks ago. http://www.vodafone.ie/df/shop/ProductDetails.shtml?handsetselected=549045&offerSelected=prepayporting&action=view
