The versatile DJ returns to Dublin. He's known on this side of the water for his Drum and Bass sets but it's his "Crack-House" sets that have been gaining him notoriety over in the UK and beyond. It's his own unique sound that mixes house beats with dirty bass-lines. Crispness with Phatness. Expect some "Crack-House" bizness this time around.
With countless singles, remixes and a couple of albums Zinc is one of that rare breed of accomplished producers that's also an excellent DJ. Not only is he technically brilliant but he always rocks the crowd. There's been some excellent "Real DJ's presents" nights down at Village HQ over the past year (Grandmaster Flash, Scratch Perverts, Kid Koala, Jack Beats anyone?) and Zinc with his new style is one definitely worth checking out.

    Zinc
Hailing from london's east end, Zinc first became involved in the dance music world via pirate radio, which led to the meeting of like minded DJs and producers at the birth of jungle - an exhilarating clash of breakbeats, basslines and samples that defined a generation of UK clubbing.
He went on to produce some of the scene's biggest anthems, most notably 'Super Sharp Shooter' and the remix of the Fugees’ 'Ready Or Not' - both of which still devastate dancefloors to this day.
In 1996 Zinc launched the True Playaz label, alongside jungle veterans Pascal and DJ Hype and continued to produce and release many jungle and drum & bass anthems on True Playaz throughout the end of the 90s, making the label one of the biggest and most successful of the era.
In 2000 Zinc produced the genre defying ‘138 trek' - which went on to chart in the UK and single handedly created a whole new genre, establishing him outside of his native dnb.
In 2001 Zinc launched his own 'Bingo Beats' imprint, releasing breakbeat and drum & bass until 2007.
Recognised as one of the worlds premier DJs and innovative producers and having played at every major festival and major nightclub around the world for 10 years, it was instantly noticeable when, without public explanation, Zinc stopped taking bookings and releasing music throughout 2008.
Now, Zinc opens the doors of his incubator to reveal a new creation which moves to a house tempo. With sights set squarely at the dance floor Zincs brand of house is serrated with the ruggedness that saw him cut his own niche through jungle, drum & bass and breaks. Weighted with basslines from dubstep and jungle and infused rave influences, there’s nothing polite about Zinc’s new production or DJ sets, as he brings his unapologetic energy into the house arena.
With a slew of DJ dates, where Zinc showcases his sound and it’s associated cousins it is safe to say that Zinc is making light work of the transition, moving from the summit of one scene to the peak of another with consummate ease.
Back in the lab, Zinc’s working on a new LP entitled, ‘Life Begins at Midnight’. He is keeping his cards close to his chest at the moment but we suggest that you set your clocks to 0000 hours and come on a journey with the DJ / Producer who always manages to stride one step ahead.
