Hi, was on my way into work this morning. I spotted the Gatso van on Cork Street. I was mindul of my speed all the way in, as I have received points before for doing 63km/h on that stretch of road. This morning I was doing less than 50km/h for that whole stretch, however the camera flashed. Just wondering if this is normal?

Anyone around you going faster than yourself ?

I'm not sure myself but have a look to see I cork street is a 30km/h zone.

It wouldn't flash if you weren't breaking a limit.

Just had a go there and it doesn't seem to be a 30 zone and you say you were under 50 on your speedo which is inaccurate so you shouldnt have being caught from what I can see

Anyone around you at the time ?

There were a few behind me, and a taxi coming up the inside in the bus lane.

It's a possible alright.... If he was going faster than you and it was only one flash.

Just don't hold me to it

I suggest the Taxi because from my probably 50hours of driving per week I can safely say Taxi's and Bus's see Bus Lane as high speed overtaking/undertaking lanes. It was likely the Taxi that was done.

complete lack of signage giving speed limit all along cork st/ crumlin rd/ drimnagh rd etc should be your defense for having no clue what the limit is along that stretch.
I drive it each day and when a garda drives behind me I have to GUESS what the speed limit is... why dont they put signs up ?!
    I guess it's 50kph
