    Hobbits have already been discovered (dead!)at Flores, Indonesia.
    Recent DNA evidence suggests a small amount of Neandertal blood in modern Europeans, and a certain amount of Denisovan blood in modern Orientals.

    In theory then, that means that those two were not separate species to us, but separate subspecies or races or breeds or types or whatever. So "Homo neanderthalensis" is now "Homo Sapiens neanderthalensis."
    On that basis, there is actually a lot less human diversity around now compared to 100,000 years ago.

    Anyway, a good definition of "racism" is when someone discriminates on the basis of race. It is possible to acknowledge human diversity without ever discriminating on the basis of a label attached to somebody else.
