Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How would one stop an old tractor from being robbed or started just for a laugh when its parked in a town. We have split up land and we have to pass through the village to get to it. sometimes the oul lad stops off in the village. The John Deere is usually brought out (It can be locked) But sometimes the Ferguson 165 is used maybe to collect a bale because it has the carrier on. Theres no doors left on it and taking out the key is almost pointless as anything will turn the lucas switch. you would nearly have to take out the battery and haul it with you into the bar / shop.

An isolation switch hidden somewhere in the engine compartment could do the trick. We have one on a mf35 and you would be a while finding it.
You can probably buy an isolation switch with a key?

You can buy a battery shut off with a removable lever. I think they are €20 or €30

Take the lever with you and the tractor can't be moved.

Only problem with them is that you can start them by sticking a bit of wire or a nail into it.

Make up a bracket that will take a padlock. Put it on the tractor stop lever so that it can't be moved. Just a suggestion...

Something along these lines (security battery isolator switch)?:

    Available from good motor factors.

    That looks the biz alright.
Great to prevent those electrical fires too, as it kills all power to all the tractor.
