I need someone to build a PC and advise on parts.

So, I've never built a computer before and I don't want to waste money getting crap parts or paying more than I have to and I don't want to break the parts I do get trying to assemble them into a PC. I was wondering if there's anyone here who could build a PC for me when I get the parts and if there's anyone that could give me advice on which parts to get.

Now that's nearly €1000 and I haven't put in mouse/speakers/keyboard as these depend more on yourself. You might also like to switch case. The price of hard drives is driving up the price quite a bit (very expensive due to worldwide shortage).

An alternative to the hard drive, is the solid state drive. Much faster, but low space and expensive (these are just expensive, no shortage but they're a bit more attractive with the hard drives so high). You could buy one to hold you off until hard drives come back down, but you'd have to be very careful with space and could really only have a few select games at most.

To reduce your costs, if you're a student (Secondary or third or have kids going to either), you can get Windows 7 for €45.45 from software4students.ie
On the day/around the time that you plan to order, keep a close eye on their today only page for discounts.

I couldn't fit a 20 foot monitor into the budget but there's a 21.5 inch one instead. :pac: I haven't read any detailed reviews on this, so you might like to choose something else here too.

It's a good price for a gold efficiency PSU - no reviews to back up its quality but those on the FSP unit on which it's based seems to be fairly positive. To clarify: FSP is the original maker of the PSU, Be Quiet is the name of the company that's branding and distributing them.

They're suggestions - a first draft. As I said above, you can save money if you're a student. Have a look at keyboards or mice that you like, then the rest of the system can be revised.
This card looks like good value and saves you £20. The 560ti is nearly as good as the 6950, but this model is overclocked and should on average match up the 6950. The twin frozrs are usually very good for noise levels as well.
