The key is to use icing sugar and butter in the pastry, none of this caster sugar and margarine carry on. Sweet buttery crumbliness :D

Love mince pies. They're always my dessert of choice for Christmas. :) Don't like cream though so I eat them dry.

Ahh they are just to nice, with cream, custard on there own, I was first introduced to them at a party, I have a problem now.

Not into the pudding myself. Though there's entertainment value in it at the parentals house when the aul lad gets some pudding in him. The farts are fuckin' chronic :pac:

The Marks and Spencer one's are lovely topped with vanilla cream and a cup of tea and you got yourself a delicious piece of heaven.

A slice of mince pie sounds quite unappetising.

For me they have to be fresh and made on the same day of eating. The supermarkets which have bakeries will often oblige in this regard.

Once I figured out that there's no mince in them in them I loved them! So good.... I'd love one now! My dad always puts them in the microwave for a few secs and then puts cream on them after... Yum makes even the cheap ones taste real good!

I don't get them at all, put all the cream you want on them, they're still going to taste like feet..

    They're just wrong.

I've already eaten two boxes of them this month.

The supervalu ones are the best.

They are not a desert, how in the name of fcuk people think meat in a pie is a desert is beyond me.
    Also, they are gack.

Edit: The ones my granny makes have meat in them. They are the only ones I've tried - do they not all have meat?

None of them have meat in them. I would avoid grannies food full stop if I were you.

I've realised I could be eating them wrong! Everyone here seems to eat them heated with cusrtard or cream....

Anyone else just whip one out of a packet and eat it as it is, cold?

Hot, cold, custard, cream, on their own - it doesn't matter how i eat them so long as i can cram them in quickly and in large numbers!:D
