Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Not so much;

Chris 'the killing' fields and James 'sexual' heelan have to be the 2 best.
My personal favourite will always be one of the old school boys.
    Mr grappletastic Mark Leonard
heard so many I'm not too fond of.
but the worst has to be Rob 'The man' devane

He has out done himself since then. He is now known as "The Druid"

    Personally I like:

    John "The Wrecking Machine" Redmond

    JMS

And for comedy value any of the versions Conor McGregor has adapted since coming on boards.ie :)

I think any unearned nicknames are hilarious. You'll often see guys with names like "Death Machine" or "Hell's Satan" when they've had 1 fight or are making their debut.

    My favourite is Sexual Heelan.

Wasn't there a guy at a CC event called "The Moycullen Scumbag"?

LOL yes but he's around longer than I am and that name is very tongue in cheek. You're thinking of John Walsh.

John is around a while alright :)
His girlfriend used to call him a "Moycullen Scumbag" all the time in jest, back then I had a penchant for giving fighters nicknames without telling them and I think this was one of those times and it stuck! Years later when I was announcing it led to a lot of fun intros "Check your wallets, there's a scumbag in the house...The Moycullen Scumbag John Walsh."

    I like

Peter 'slam' Duncan. Especially with the clip of his slam on YouTube

    Sexual heelan is a classic

Unless you've knocked out or submitted 10 or so people in a row you shouldnt be calling yourself the wrecking machine or bulldozer or whatever. The best knicknames seem to be either a play on the fighters name or based on an aspect of their personality. Personally if I ever fought I'd like to be called phantom as I'd disappear before the bell rang.

ah Sam say it ain't so.
think the Brazilian bjj guys have the best ones. all their nicknames are some form of insult to them and they embrace it

Another ridiculous nickname is Conor "done deal " Dillon is this nickname a serious rip off of Ross " The real deal Pearson ?!!!! I think so !! or am I off the ball on this one ,because maybe the guy is an avid an seasoned seller on the website Donedeal in which case im wrong .But i still fail to see how this would tie in to M.M.A !! I believe a nickname should be earned and individual to the person not just RIPPED off !!!!

ye agreed Peter Quelly has the same nick name as Jeremy Stephens but "who cares " as you said ,because he's going to justify his name against you !!
