Ah you were using that line for years, when manning had a very similar cast that curtis Painter has now. Nobody can do what Manning '04, or Brady '07 or Rodgers '11 is doing without an elite team around him**.

Though to the OP, if you want a Rodgers thread, start one. don't whinge about it

**Disclaimer: Marino could, but he has no rings. Arguments have been had, so I won't get into it again. Let's all agree he was crap, because a QB's ability alone is sole determination of how many rings he should have.

    Are you ready...

    Here it is:
I've said in this thread that Rodgers is awesome and is the best right now. No questions about that but I would never say Brady done it all by himself, Belichick had/has an awful lot to do with this and I am well aware of that. I'd take Belichick as my coach over any QB and that includes Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Brees or any other name you want to throw at me. What Mike McCarthy has done in Green Bay is pretty special.

Agreed. And that's how it should be. The coach is the guy who makes it all happen. Particularly if the coach has a big say in drafting/trading players.

But without Rodgers, mcCarthy wouldn't have a 11-0 team right now. Without any one of his other players, he still might.

Well I'm not so sure about that. Are you telling me that if he had a fit Manning or Brady or Brees that he wouldn't be 11-0?

If they'd spent a few years in the system, yeah. But that's a pretty impressive standard of QB replacing him. It highlights the point a bit too. Sure, Mccarthy is doing amazing things, but that's the kind of level of QB it takes to make it work this effectively. Remember, the run game is mediocre, and defensively, there have been a decent few TD's against.

Anyway, had the OP named this thread "Will Rodgers break the TD/PasSer Rating/Yardage record?", or "how does rodgers season compare to Marino/Manning/Brady's?" or something like that. These semantic arguments wouldn't have happened/

On relation to my earlier post Peter King tweeted something interesting.

    Quarterback ratings through 11 games: Rodgers, GB, 2011: 128.0 ... Brady, NE, 2007: 127.9.

Interesting to see if Rodgers 'regresses' like Brady did.

Named NFL offensive player of the month for an unprecedented 4th month in a row, overtaking the record of 3 he previously shared with some guy called Barry Sanders.

Ryan selected today, so Rodgers has overtaken Mannings single season passer rating record.

Flynn's performance yesterday is already being used to beat Rodgers. Apparently Rodgers now doesnt deserve MVP as Flynn showed it's the system that works and not necessarily Rodgers. Don't think i can fully agree with that, what do you guys think?
