Hi all, this has probably been asked loads of time but sure here goes. I would love to do some volunteering. I would like to help out with the homeless, families in poverty or something like that anyway. Maybe helping out in a shelter. Hi all, this has probably been asked loads of time but sure here goes.

I dnt know, all i know is that i have ALWAYS want to do something to help others. I feel the time is right for me to be able to commit to do something worthwhile longterm.
So where do i start, iv no idea, i dnt know anyone at all that volunteers.

Great that you want to get involved. Where do you live? Lots of places have central volunteer centres in which you can find information on places that are looking for volunteers. Volunteer.ie is a great place to start.

This thread has some basic info for you, you can also use the search function in the volunteerism forum to find threads with key words you are curious about. Like dory says the volunteer.ie website should be able to help you. They have volunteer centres in most counties so you probably could drop into one if you wanted to talk face to face with someone.

Thanks for the info guys, im in dublin city centre , il have a look on the site you mentioned iv been doing a little research, and im thinking befriending would be right up my street. Although wouldnt mind doing a soup run or helping in a shelter or something. Iv had a look on focus site. But im defo going to register with volunteer.ie. thanks again.
