Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    This is my first time posting in this subforum.

    It is in relation to the following news story of a woman in Afghanistan being raped and told that she can avoid jail if she marries the rapist.

    What are your opinions?

    I myself don't know where to start - it's absolutely disgusting what is happening to the woman. It infuriates me. All religions do.

    Where is there any indication on that article that it has to do with Islam?

    As Tom Dunne notes, there is no reference in the article to Islam. Just because something happens in a country where the majority of the population is nominally Muslim does not make it relevant to the Islam forum.

    I am therefore locking the thread.
