Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hate when people say they have an "eclectic taste". It's like saying, "Oh look at me.. I'm so cool. I'm not defined by genres & am really open minded, loike, ya."

So you listen to different types of music. So fucking what? Nearly everbody does that.

I’ve got a broad taste. From the Britpop bands like UB40 and Def Leppard, right back to classic rock, like Wings.

Buddy Rich was in hospital for an operation and the nurse who was prepping him asked if he was allergic to anything. "Only country music" was the reply.

Free jazz, there's another genre I can't stand. Although I do have respect for jazz drummers.

I like new music, simple as that. I'm always trying to find something new and exciting.....except jazz, I cannot stand jazz with it's blatant disregard for common music rules while still actually adhering to rules of music.

    Polyphonic gloomcore.

You probably wouldn't know any of the bands as it's quite now.

Pretty much anything that isn't The Red Hot Chili Peppers or U2.

How those two groups of **** have been getting away with it for so long is fucking beyond me.

I'm having a chuckle remembering Begbie in Trainspotting (book) overhearing Sick Boy saying he was "basically a jazz purist" to some mot and being called "that fucking jazz purist" or similar therein. :pac:

Maybe if you listen to the best of Bob Marley double CD that everyone has but that's not really the best of Bob Marley.

I'm ashamed to admit power metal is quite addictive, also death metal subgenres. apart from that all I listen to is Denny Schneidmesser, not sure exactly what genre he is. Sort of movie music I guess.

    Anything really, except r&b.
Depends on what mood I'm in.
    Mainly rock though.

I listen to a bit of everything, however my favourites would be hip hop, soul and jazz. There are a few so-called 'indie' bands that I like too.

Mostly punk and Irish trad. I play at sessions about twice a week. great music, what punk always wanted to be.

My friends call it 'sadcore'. I just have a preference for more melancholy music. I do like other genres though, lil bit of everything I guess.

everything electronic, particularly house in its many genres. Dubstep sounds like stephen hawking having a stroke.

    Rock/Indie rock too.

    Pretty much anything but rap.

Ones I listen to most would be old-school metal, classic rock (Queen, Lizzy), and dreadfully cheesy 80's music :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,732 ✭✭✭rain on

Hardcore, metal, doom, black metal, metalcore, stoner, sludge, pop, r'n'b, hip-hop, electronica, ambient, noise/drone, and so on. As long as it's heavy or not at all heavy, none of that middle of the road stuff!
