What is taking up all that space?

My home PC running XP Shows total size of hd: 186GB. Free space: 17.1GB.

But when I go to Add/remove programs, I cannot find what is taking up approx 169GBs. Obviosuly the OS takes up around 20GB MAX, a bit of music about 13GB, Chrome and the likes are just a few GBs.

How can I find what the hell is taking up this extra 100GB of harddrive space?

SpaceSniffer is an awesome free program what will analyze your hard drive for you and show you a graphical display of what's being used, you can zoom in and make it more or less in-depth. I used it recently to clear out my HDD, worked wonders. Highly recommended for anyone in the OP's situation.

Personally, I prefer Scanner, simply because it displays information in pie-chart form. I find it easier to see what's taking up what space.
