why did they say that? what happened:confused:

Not really sure myself, but a friend who looks after gig booking in a few venues told me this secondhand, and he's not the type to bullcrap.

Kraftwerk. How amazing would that be...

that would be excellent, even if it's not the full original lineup it would be great to experience the sound of Kraftwerk. Are they even touring around next summer?

oh, and on a different note, Metallica would be great too, I saw them at the RDS a few years back and the sound was hot and cold, indoors would be better.

Van Halen are playing the o2 - would have loved to see them down here. Pearl Jam are on tour around that time, but allegedly after the last gig in Milstreet they said they'd never tour in Cork again.

Pearl jam are not doing Ireland as part of the European tour. No spare dates for changes either. 3 Dates in the UK though 20th june on. Unless they decide to hit cork before then as a "warm up".

With Kraftwerk it's just one member from the "classic" lineup but I would still love to see it.
I agree that Metallica would be another potential addition if they are touring around that time.
You could also imagine the likes of Lou Reed fitting in at the Marquee...

you'd need pairc Ui chaoimh rather than the Marquee for Metallica

Dave Matthews Band if they're touring this summer ?

nah, the Marquee would fit nicely for Metallica, sort of indoors and the heat would be great...of course it would mean the fireworks before 'One' would not happen.

Oh now you're talking, I'd give my right leg to see DMB Leeside. I saw them in the Point (when it was the Point) but do you think they would draw a big enough crowd? They are still slow to gain a following over here.

I wonder would a band who might be lined up as support acts for the Chilli Peppers play the Marquee, Noel Gallagher for example.

The Prodigy would be good, I would have dismissed them as has-beens but their live DVD at Milton Keynes was outstanding.

For DMB - just show this and it would sell out in mins

I hope there is a Hip-Hop act at least, Eminem would be ideal.

Matter of fact, I might start up a campaign to stop Christie Moore from performing. FFS, like, why does he have to rob a spot every year.

Would love to see someone like The National, Foals or Glasvegas brought to the Marquee. Mumford and Sons or Elbow would be perfect there too!!

I wish they would bring god's kitchen or even sister bliss or other big d.j.'s but with the 11:30 finish, that's not worth their while.

    hey :)

Just wondering are the Justice tickets sold out as I keep getting unexpected errors on the ticketmaster website. Been trying for the past few hours now and no luck.

Any help or info would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Tom

Just went online to buy a ticket to Tom Petty and with the 6:60 booking fee (what the ****!?) it ended up being €82.10. I decided not to buy it. What a ridiculously inflated price! For the Marquee too!

I think the Dublin show is cheaper.

If any of these acts are announced, I think it'll be time to tear the marquee down

Nick Richards on 96fm saying that there's an 'announcement' about the Coronas this morning - I'd say they're playing the Marquee
