    I've been looking for a decent telephoto lens for my 450D for the past while, but I'm not sure if this would be the one to go for. It's not the USM version and has no IS so image quality is a bit flaky apparently.

    Which product doesn't ship to IE -- the 75 -> 300 or the 55 -> 250 ?

    I placed an order for the 55 -> 250 yesterday with Ephoto as the seller from the market place. Order accepted fine and got my dispatch notification last night. Hopefully have it on Monday.

    Ah sh*te, sorry. I have a UK address stored in my Amazon account, that's why it didn't flag a problem. I dunno why some 3rd party "fulfilled by Amazon" offers are available to Ireland and others not... thread title amended appropriately.
    For specified European destinations, your order must be £25 or over (including VAT) to qualify for SSD, and can include Marketplace items that are "Fulfilled by Amazon".

    And yes, that 55-250mm might be a better deal. It's been dropping steadily in price until quite recently. And it's available with free supersaver shipping.

    Well, I've placed an order for the 55-250 IS with free Supersaver shipping (£148 all in). According to the price tracker, it's just after dropping by £50 so that is a very good deal.
