Just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on using this for a class of good Junior Certs as their novel. Is it possibly a bit heavy?

Absolutely! It is one of my favourite books and so well written but I think it would be very disturbing for 14/15 year olds. There are parts where the mother is being raped etc... I loaned it to some staff members who wouldn't read passed the third chapter.

If you do go ahead with it, make sure you consult with parents.

That's what I was thinking. It is a great crossover book and will end up on the LC course soon, I'd imagine!
