xbmc high def material in sd

theres still one crt here in the house and i wouldnt mind putting the xbox onto it to stream a few bits to it. trouble is most everything i look at now is 720 or greater is there anyway for this to play back on the xbox without choking the cpu? transcoding from the server should be no problem.
