Hey everyone,

Big fan of acoustic music. Love acoustic Guitar instrumentals in particular i.e. Andy Mckee,Embryonic Journey , Ocean by John butler etc....

Just hard to come across. Any other suggestions??

They've released 2 albums under the name of Rianoir, I'd recommend them.

I'd recommend Pat Metheny's album 'One Quiet Night'.

I generally don't like acoustic songs. Something about them annoys me. The only artist I can really listen to is John Frusciante. He has about 9 or 10 solo albums. He recorded 6 in 6 months a couple of years ago. They are pretty good. Big change from the rock anthems of the Chilis but it's a welcome change.

As well as being a bit of a genius with the guitar he also has a fantastic voice. It's not the kind that would suit a stadium tour setting but when he's on his own on an acoustic track it's perfect imo.

The song above was the first part of the 6 albums in 6 months attempt. To cut costs and time he recorded each song in a maximum of two takes. You can even hear him turning the page of the lyrics towards the end of the song.

He played all the instruments on the album along with current Chilis guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.

This song is from the final album in the series. Apparently he recorded this in his bedroom and then put the drums and what not in after.

I genuinely could listen to him all day long.

A good few great instrumental acoustic compositions on an album by Avant Garde composer/musician, Trevor Dunn, called "Four Films" which is based around soundtrack scores, except without a film to go with it. If you like independent film scores you should like this album, plenty of genres on it — Jazz, Electronic Lounge/Jazz, Western soundtrack, Avant Garde, IDM, Acoustic. I reckon I'm probably only one in a handful of people in Ireland who have the album.
