I've inherited two abandoned laptops, I am wondering what's the best way of putting them together. I know the end product won't be great but wondering If I could tweak a bit of performance putting bits in with other bits.

    Laptop 1 Dell Inspiron 1501 Bought 22/05/2007 Price ?
    amd sempron 3500+
    1 INSPIRON 1501 SEMPRON 3500+ (1.8GHZ 512K
1 15.4" WIDE SCREEN XGA TFT DISPLAY: 1280X
    1 MEMORY DUAL-CHANNEL 1024MB (2X512) 533MH
1 HARD DRIVE 80GB SERIAL ATA (5400 RPM)
    1 FIXED INTERNAL 8X DVD+/-RW DRIVE
    1 AC ADAPTER 65W
    1 4 CELL 29WHR PRIMARY BATTERY
    1 ATI RADEON XPRESS 1150 256MB HYPERMEMORY
    1 DELL™ WIRELESS 1390 802.11B/G MINI-

Abandoned due to: Dodgy keyboard and boot up issues (?)

    Laptop 2 Dell Inspiron 6000 Bought 2005 ~1400 euro
    PENTIUM M 740 (1.7
    1 15.4 INCH WSXGA+ LCD PANEL
    1 1024MB 400MHZ DDR2 SDRAM MEMORY (1X1024M)
    1 60GB (5, 400RPM) IDE HARD DRIVE
    1 DVD+/-RW (READ/WRITE) 8X FIXED INTERNAL
    1 D- SERIES 65W AC ADAPTER
    1 PRIMARY 80 WATT/HOUR, 9 CELL BATT
1 INTEL MEDIA ACCELERATOR 900 GRAPHICS UP
    1 EURO - INTEL PROWIRELESS 2915 802.11A/B/

hmm, really all I can see is putting 1.5 ram in one, with the better hd. laptop 2 looks to have better screen, battery and build but is two years old and a bit rough looking. any advice?
