Light fixture - vibration

Simple problem but would appreciate thoughts.

Given that we had the luck to purchase a house made of cardboard, when the kids jump around upstairs the lightshade in the kitchen underneath rattles. The fixture to the ceiling is a good old fashioned metal bracket which of course does not dampen the vibration.

What's the most elegant way to fix this do people think?

Is it hanging from a chain or fixed to the ceiling?
Using rubber as an isolation material will help.
    Post a pic.
