The company you are using should be familiar with the grant system too.

Thanks for replies, have sent off an email to see If we are eligible, I presume once the work is carried out I send off all the relevant forms to the appropriate place.

if you are only getting the walls done with bead the grant is €320 but the minimum grant you can apply for is €400 from SEAI that is why most people get something done with the walls and attic at the same time walls €320 + attic €200 = €520

    From seai site
    Building Energy Rating (BER) €80**
*Cash Grants are set value unless expenditure is below the set value, in which case the actual expenditure will be reimbursed.

**A Building Energy Rating (BER) is an integral part of all grant applications under the HES scheme, whereby homeowners must undertake a BER on their home after grant aided works have been completed. A homeowner is entitled to BER funding of €80 once per home. This funding will be applied to your grant application automatically provided you have never applied previously for BER funding. You will be informed during the online grant application process if BER funding is available for your home or as part of your Letter of Grant Offer if you have applied through the post.

Please note the minimum grant amount for the first application must be €400. A BER grant, where applicable, does not count towards the €400 minimum.

check with seai site, the company doing the insulation afaik has to be registered with them if not then you may not get the grant.companys who are registered should have to follow a code of practise.the norm is to apply for the grant before the work is done.when you qualify then comence and then when work is complete the contractor signs off.forms are submitted to seai and grant is payed into your bank account.if i were you i would tell contractor to wait till grant is approved.most will help you with forms which makes me think this contractor IS NOT REGISTERED.full list of reg. contractors on seai web site
