p67-vs-Z68 motherboard

The motherboard i was looking at getting is a p67 but i heard that z68's are better and more future proof. So which is a better choice? what are the main differences and which is more future proof?

The P67 does not support the Intel GPU in the processors, but both chipsets can overclock the K models.

there are lots of things that you need to consider.

its not even more about P or Z, but more about what does it have.

Z yokes are generally better for overclocking, plus they got more goodies.

i ould go for Z, then start looking in to its details.

check what PCIe does it have (how many, sli or CS, x16 or x4 etc ), which SATA ( how many ), USB ( how many ).

when i started biulding pc few days ago, i though it will be easy, but when you start looking in to mobos specs it becomes living hell.

Lukker-

Go for a Z, good overclockers and if you want to use it as a HTTP you can use the integrated graphics, could be handy in the long run.

It gets prety easy when you know about your needs.

I personally was looking for future proving my system.

I started looking in to Z boards. Then I was checking PCIe , because it was a gaming pc, so it's very important part. I choose a board, which supports pcie 3.0. There are no cards with 3.0, but I am ready now for when it will be out. Then I looked in to sli and Cs support. So I took all these things in to account and started looking at boards with these parameters.

So ask yourself what you need. Budget? Future prove? Sli/Cs? Etc

Z68 both for future proofing and the ability to use the integrated GPU for video encoding. I'm amazed at how much faster it is at video encoding compared to dedicated GPUs.

For the sake of extra 20-30 quid I got myself pcie 3.0 with sli/CS mobo. Next gen ivy will use 1155 socket so might aswell have pcie 3.0.

But you know: different people - different opinions.

That second board looks way better then the one before.

it is 45eu extra?

this is just my personal opinion, but i prefer to pay extra 45eu now, then paying 120eu now, then throw away 120eu board and buy newer board for 120eu again.
