I have a Renault Grand Scenic 7 Seater. Two of the cards that came with it, when I bought it is not working well. UnLock button doesnt work on one card and Lock button doesnt work on the other one. So in short I have to have both the cars with me to use the car. Called Renault and they told me it would be Euro 300 per card and it has to come from France .

I heard that in Rathfarnam some one is doing Cards inc programming it. Any idea where to get the cards done cheap?

It sounds like the buttons are just broken off inside. Anyone thats competant at soldering electronics should be able to repair both very cheaply. I'd say any of those car key places should be able to do it,

Ive fixed those keycards myself before. It sounds like one of your buttons just need to be replaced, if any of the others work. If none of the other buttons work the transmitter coil needs to be soldered back on generally.

The guy at keyrepair.co.uk is very good and only charges £25 if you post to him afaik.

Renault dealerships are the only way to get them reprogrammed, after they get the codes from renault france.

That main dealer is ripping you off....Yes you can get cheaper repairs done,,but the actual dealer price of a manual card is €200 incl codeing, unless its a keyless entry card in which its about €275.

The dealer is Renault Liffey Valley - Bill Cullen Group.

I would try repairing one of the cars first. If it works fine repair the second as well.

If not I would try some other dealer.

Of course uncle Bill is gonna be more expensive, He has to make his money to pay for the 200k prize on the apprentice and the upkeep of Jackies face :)

On a more serious note, KC Systems in Cork can repair them key cards. Ive never had one done myself but I know a few people who have had them done by him and they were very happy. http://www.kcsystems.ie/

It is only 208 euro (compared to 300 euro @ Bill Cullen, Liffey Valley) for card replacement @ the Renault dealer, Joe Mallon Motors, Kildare !

    You are right darragh.

I had a Renault Scenic key card, which I had opened myself (trying to follow a repair which is on UT), and had written it off.
Both keys I have were displaying 'Card not detected' (one permanently, the other still worked but it was hit and miss and had to play around with it for a while to get it to work).
A work colleague recommended this company on the Naas Rd. in Dublin and I took it to them. They repaired the key and stuck it back together and it works fine. I was amazed!
    Very professional service.
The repair cost €80 or €140 for 2. I have my second key with them now and it ready for pick up and it will cost only €60 (you pay full €80 for first key and, if you are having the second one repaired you only pay €60 for that one on pick up (total €140)).
    I would highly recommend http://ww.autokey.ie
