From a Gooner pov do you lot not feel a tiny bit red faced, about cheering on William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor? Two of your most hated players beforehand. I mean you can see the old posts are on this very forum about the players, and we all know the dodgey songs etc.

I dont think its the same with Campbell, as far as I remember he never bothered us because he seemed like a decent bloke, and Spurs werent a threat then.

Do you feel you would play any player then as long as you had success? You dont care who pulls on the jersey as long as you win games. I think for us its different many gooners wouldnt except winning with mercenaries like Tevez or winning with players like Bentley, Cashley, Sheringham. I would rather not win anything then do so with the likes of them and neanderthals like Clive Allen etc.

Whats the point in wanting someone you dont like win and succeed?

I fail to see how it is tainted. It's the team that are playing well as a whole regardless of some players past allegiance. This is the
modern game, players move about, win trophies and medals at different clubs.

Adebayor is the only player from the two mentioned who has made a significant impact this season from the two you mentioned. But when you look at it, it's not just about him, it's a team game. The squad we have now is the best we've had in a long time and I feel it's a tad bit of sour grapes from the Arsenal fans. The only reason Adebayor has been so good is because of the other quality players around him.

I like the way you say that you weren't bothered by Campbell as he seemed like a decent bloke and Spurs weren't a threat.

Well I think Adebayor seems pure sound and Arsenal are just the Van Persie show.

What a retarded post. Are the schools on holidays or something?

"I dont think it's the same with Campbell" that's convenient...

Do you think Chelsea fans don't cheer when Anelka or Ashley Cole help them win trophies?
Do you think Man City fans choked on their cornflakes when Tevez helped them qualify for the CL?

    You sir, are a fool.

Bentley & Clive Allen were both at Arsenal before they ever donned a Tottenham shirt !:D Not sure how someone who refuses to fawn over Wenger is called a neandarthal but there you go...

As for Gallas being hated, must have mised that one. he was very insignificant to me when he was at Arsenal, Adabayor I didn't like because of his lazy greedy persona. He hasn't behaved like that since he has been at WHL so we have to give him the benefit of the doubt whilst he is doing the business on the pitch.

I presume based on your post you don't count anything Fabregas or Nasri did last season as they didn't want to be where they were?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Firstly, let me say that your post/question is just stupid. You make out like Arsenal fans are different to any other fans. Well you're not. You want your team to win, and fair enough you'd like them to win the way the Henry/Petit/Overmars team won, but that's a long time ago and they don't play that brand of football any more, which is a shame really as it was just brilliant to watch.

Secondly, don't tell me for a second that if Van Persie injured himself this weekend and was out for 6 months that you wouldn't be crying out for Tevez or any other worthy rebel if he was available at a reasonable price. Loyalty is all well and good, but if a player can come to a club and shows heart and determination, like Adebayor and Gallas have done, then regardless of who he's played for I'd be happy.

Finally, I don't know if I speak for everyone else, but I don't hate Arsenal. As I said earlier, I look back at the football they used to play with amazement at times. It was truly beautiful and we may never see that style in the PL again. Believe it or not I was actually sympathetic to your cause with Fabregas and Nasri as Spurs fans have been there before and know how difficult it is.

So get over yourself. If you've come looking for an argument you've come to the wrong place.

We never had posts like this when we were fighting for top 7. It amuses me.

Anyway, you sir are full of shít. I wouldn't care if we had 11 clones of Barry Ferguson and Steven Ireland's love child. If you win the league/are successful peoples morals quickly go out the window. I honestly like Arsenal and I know I shouldn't but they don't have a team full of Dickheads like Chelsea and haven't tried to buy success like City. I like their football style and have a huge amount of respect for Wenger so if your looking for some crazy reaction you won't get it from me.

Your of course intitled to your opinion but I will disagree.

Having said all that, if Steven Ireland did sign for us I'd be sick.

If a player plays well for Spurs and gives 100% I don't care where they came from.

    I hope this helps

We progressed further in the CL last year than yourselves and we're also higher in the league than arsenal at the moment too. Judging by your username I think you're living in the past.
Nice to have thursdays free now to concentrate on the league.

    Selley, Parlour and Hillier
was there ever a midfield sillier

And they won the bloody title in 91

Arsenal were barely watchable until Le Prof arrived apart from when the dubs were playing.
As regards Adebayor, anyone who gives an arsenal player, especially bendtner, a smack during a derby match, and a league cup semi final at that, is ok with me. Even then, he was a spurs man at heart. Hope your europa campaign next year goes well. Now that I have 5 tuned in on the skybox I might watch a game or two.
Have to be honest, I have no hatred of Arsenal in my heart. I don't blame their fans for finding it hard to adjust to the fact that they are becoming a feeder club for Barca, Man City, and ourselves. Don't be bitter lads, we'll take good care of Arsene's babies. Vermaelen and Van Persie next please.
