External Student (Help!)

So as the title mentions, I intend to sit the leaving certificate this year as an external student. I was just a bit off the points I need in order to get into the only course I'd actually like to get into in University.

Unfortunately because I've already had six years of secondary school education, I am unable to attend school this time, hence the external route.

Unfortunately this also means I have a serious lack of information, I was hoping some of you could provide that kind of information, if you'd be so kind.

I need to know what options there are for the Honours English comparitive study and the single text. I need to know what books I should get for Maths, I'm aware that there is a new curiculum for maths, but have no idea what book I should be using for that.

What books to get for Higher Level Art History, or is it still the same it was last year? What books to get for Leaving Cert Physics, Ordinary Level.

The same goes for Ordinary Level German and Irish.

Basically my only questions right now are in regards to books and options.

Please help as unfortunately there aren't many other facilities that I can find that provide this kind of information outside of a school setting.

    Hi
I'm a leaving cert English and maths teacher. My class are doing Hamlet for the single text, Inside I'm Dancing (movie) Danching at Lughnasa (play) and The Kite Runner (novel) for the comparative.
Most of the maths curriculum is the same except the statisitcs and something else (sorry not teaching maths this year!) but if u visit this website http://projectmaths.ie/overview/ everything should be on it for you.
I give grinds in both if that's any help to you.

BALLARD, J. G. Empire of the Sun
    FRIEL, Brian Dancing at Lughnasa
    IBSEN, Henrik A Doll’s House
    SHAKESPEARE, William Hamlet
As I'm sure you know, you study one of these.

    HL Comparative Study options:
    AUSTEN, Jane Emma
BALLARD, J.G. Empire of the Sun

    SHAKESPEARE, William Hamlet
    SHAKESPEARE, William A Winter’s Tale
    SHIELDS, Carol Unless
    SOPHOCLES Oedipus the King
TREVOR, William The Story of Lucy Gault
    WOLFF, Tobias This Boy’s Life
    ZUSAK, Markus The Book Thief
    You choose three of these.

The modes of comparison this year are (a) Literary Genre (b) General Vision and Viewpoint and (c) Theme or issue

Note that at Higher Level a play by Shakespeare must be one of the texts chosen. This can be studied on its own or as an element in a comparative study.

I do Higher Level Irish but I know that the Ordinary level class in my year are using this book for the general learning and this book for the oral.

OP-I suggest you look at the syllabi, or again, I will suggest going to talk to some of your teachers.

Please don't bump your thread because you don't get an answer as quick as you'd like.
Chat should be done by PM.
