I think the WW1 forum is prob best for this thread. I was reading on Wiki(not always realiable I know) about the British Expeditionary Forces in Russian 1919. Wiki mentions that some Dublin Fusiliers served in the Northern Campaign but on further research the Dublin Fusiliers are mentioned seving in the Black Sea and South Russia .

SOUTH RUSSIA & BLACK SEA 1919</SPAN>
Following the armistice with the Ottoman empire, Britain sent troops from Macedonia to secure Constantinople and the Straits. In addition, troops were sent eastwards to Turkish ports on the Black Sea and into Caucasus region of Russia to influence the outcome of the struggle against the Bolsheviks. </SPAN>Units of the Indian Army provided part of the garrison in Turkey.</SPAN>

    23rd Infantry</SPAN>
    54th Infantry</SPAN>
    95th Infantry</SPAN>
    2 Bn 128th Infantry</SPAN>
    2 Bn 4th Gurkha Rifles</SPAN>

So where and how many Dublin Fusiliers served in Russia? Where any killed? Did other Irish men serve in Russia apart from the Fusiliers? I came across the story of John Fitzgerald who served in the RAF in Russia and was later killed by the Cario Gang.

Soldiers Died in the Great War shows 5 RDF died in 1919. 3 in France, 1 in India and 1 drowned (not sure where).

The only book in my collection that touches on Russia is East, West by Charles Stewart Parnell Hamilton who served with the RAMC. He landed at Novorossisk in January 1919 as part of a British, American, French, Italian and Serbian force (there was supposed to be a Japanese contingent but it never arrived). No mention of the RDF in his chapter on Russia. Cholera and typhus appear to have been big issues and he mentions being impressed by the Russian medics use of "plaster of paris" for broken bones.
