mobileme to icloud mail problems

    Hi there,

    I made the change form my mobile me to icloud yesterday.

    I eventually figured out how to move my calenders etc...

    Next problem is the mail account. I already have a me.com account. This account is visible on my mac and my iphone but not on icloud. When I click mail in icloud (on a webpage), it says to use icloud mail- I should create a me.com account by turning on mail in the icloud settings on a ios or osx device. So I tried to do this on my iphone 4s and it will only let me create a new account and when I type in my existing account- it says that this is unavailable...

    Does anyone know how to get around this, I have not had any luck on the apple website?

    I assume the problem is that you've got two separate Apple accounts. A former MobileMe account and an Apple ID account that you used for purchases. Both of these now have an iCloud account (with @me email address) associated with them and there's no way to merge them. But you can use one account for iCloud and another for purchases if you wish, you'll just need to be careful to keep track of them. You'll have to log out of iCloud in iCloud settings and login using your former MobileMe details.
