    I'd imagine that it's just playing off the rumours of HL3 appearing at some future game event but felt like posting it here to drive everyone nuts :p

    It's mostly the trailer for HL2 coming to Mac, which is a remake of the 1984 Apple commercial. The CG stuff looks like somebody's fan project.

    It's been a while since this thread reared its ugly head but with Newell finally confirming that a brand new engine is being worked on (presumably Source 2) and that they are just waiting on a game to release with it, as long as that game ends in 3 I don't mind!

    It came about when some 4chan guys visited him for his birthday as seen below (long vid):


    Since the last time they released a new engine Source 1 in 2004 (:eek:) they released a small game by the name of Half-Life 2 (and CS Source) they are are course going to release some game with 3 at the end of it with this one :D

    Not going to give up on HL3 and playing Black Mesa recently has made me jump on this bit of no news :o

    TL;DR Half-Life 3 still not announced and is presumably never going to be released.

    I don't see why Valve doesn't have the common courtesy to say they're working on it. They don't have to give any other info, just tell people to be patient. It's disgusting the way they're treating the fans.

By holding off all info the hype train just builds and builds and by the time they do actually release concrete news the entire internet is going to have a nerdgasm simultaneously resulting everyone and their mam hearing about it!     With the speed at which they threw Portal 2 together and made it a winning experience I simply fail to comprehend why they are so reluctant to pull the trigger on HL3, other than shyness about bringing a close to the story.

    I would say they want to use it to showcase this new engine of theirs, it's the only reason I can think for the delay....

    I would guess maybe a new controller or periphal to go along with it?

    There was rumours a few years back of HL3 having a deaf co op character, who Gordon uses sign language to communicate with, using something like Kinect the possiblities are amazing, but I would say that part is fairly far fetched, but not impossible....
