Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Theres not much point in living if it happens.

Hair transplants are pricey but if you can afford them they are great.

Slap heads, egg tops etc are a few cruel names that bald men are called.

Going bald is great, less money on shampoo, no drying your hair in the morning, no bad hair days, no money to spend on wax, creams, etc, money saved on getting your hair cut, no getting your hair pulled by an agro woman when things get heated.

No, no they are not great. (unless you LIKE having hair like a Ken Doll.)

Seriously a man going grey or bald with dignity (ie not resorting to Just For Men or hair transplants) can be seriously sexy.

It must be a difficult to happen, especially in the early stages when it starts to thin and you foolishly start putting gel in it and trying to brush it around a bit to hide the pastey looking scalp underneath. Please God it never happens to me.

If you go bald you go bald, its no big deal and certainly not one of the worst things that can happen you,Sure if you want you can still grow a beard and then turn your head upside down.

Nothing wrong with going bald. You just grow a beard like me and tell people you haven't lost your hair, you just moved it to another part of your head.

Saw one guy in Dublin whose "rug" flew off in a gust of wind, and I've never seen anyone with a face as red as that guy's, especially when he ran after it.

your ok so but if your sister has a boy he will inherit the baldness

male pattern baldness is actually caused by a defective X chromesome

and is passed down to offspring from the mother not the father's genes.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldness

so if you've gone bald blame your mammy not your dad

Totally agree, as long as no comb-over is attempted, these should be punishable by bollix removal.

Seriously shave the whole head, that's sexy.

"Men whose fathers had experienced hairloss were 2.5 times more likely to experience hairloss themselves, regardless of the mother's side of the family, which may suggest Y linked heredity plays a role."

I'm inclined to go with the above based on personal experience.

Started receding when I was 19. Shaved the lot of it and haven't looked back. Either use a 0 blade or mach 3 depending on how lazy I am.

    I prefer it now tbh!

Never on this or any other planet should a comb over be allowed!!

Well to say I prefer it now, I have no interest in wigs, hair replacement etc.

If it bothered me like it does some people I probably would look in to something like the above.

*Rubs hand through thick head of hair*

Baldness isn't the worst thing in the world, but I definitely am glad I'm not. I'm too cute for baldness. I'd certainly never look intimidating, even with a shaved head.

Have had a shaved head since I was seventeen thanks to going bald. How the rest of you can afford all that time and money on shampoo, washing it, haircuts, hairdryers and the like is a mystery. And if you get caught in the rain you're stuck with a wet head for the day? Yuck.

Jesus I'd love to be bald, I'd save a fortune not having to buy gillette fusion blades anymore.

Only person at my comfirmation with less hair than me was the bishop.

Also I have 3 kids under three so being bald just means they cant pull the head off me.

But serious whats the big deal with baldness, been this way for years n its never bothered me, a little slagging but I just give as good as I get.
I keep what little hair I ve left shaved down to a "zero" and get on with living. Its not a death sentence like

that's the old method the now do it more randomly than the line patterns. The thing is if you do it too early and keep going bald it can look terrrible.
