Dublin Wheel @ the O2 gone???

I passed by the o2 on the way home this evening and the big wheel is gone!!! I thought that this was to be a tourist attraction for dublin?

No, it was not Mr. Crosbie. As a local who did see the wheel from his front window, the only real business it attracted was when a concert was on at the O2 or when the Sunday market was operating in the area. It was empty at all other times of the week. You need to cop on that the land you own is in an area of the docks which is unsightly to visitors. If that wheel was in O'Connell st, it would be an all year around profitable business.

It must have cost well over 100k to set up and operate. I cant think of anywhere that it would get the passing tourist traffic where it would not be an eyesore. I heard the O2 is the busiest concert venue in Europe. If it cant turn a profit there its not going to make a profit anywhere the council will allow it.
