Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why, though, are kittens considered more "valuable" in such a situation by society in general?
Same reason the committee for the protection of the Australian Blobfish never took off, and women like jewels. Pretty! You may as well be asking why art sells.
    I made that point.

Because the thread seems more focused on the value of a kitten's life over a man who was murdered , chopped up, his corpse played around with and then the footage uploaded to the web which has resulted in the international manhunt of the killer.

Hope when they find this sicko he resists arrest and they blow him away.

Otherwise he's just going to end up some cushy Canadian prison where he'll actually like getting buggered up the hole.

In fairness, the kitten part was an old thread resurrected when the new details of the murder came to light.

Why do people continue to bring up the murders? The OP consists solely of a python and a kitten. It is the reactions to this fact that I am discussing.

By concluding thusly, you have demonstrated an inability to comprehend the content of my posts.

If it's not (solely) directed at me, I refer you back to paragraph one.

Please, stop coming to ridiculous conclusions.

Castration and the death penalty is too good for inherently evil people like that but why the added media attention of emphasising "gay/bisexuality"

Maybe they're emphasising the freedom to take whatever liberties you want might, just might lead to some ****ed up shìt besides he's almost enough to drive me asexual. Gay is one thing but bi-suggests an undisciplined deviant with no self control abusing too much freedoms; like setting his snake on that underage pussy

People bring up the murder(s) because it has elevated to that, which is why the thread and subject has resurfaced. The perpetrator has now become worldwide news.

I think it's very relevant that the man who uploaded videos of himself killing kittens has now been put on Interpol's most wanted list after he uploaded a video of what he did to a man and posted his body parts across Canada.

It also demonstrates the popular theory of one who is willing to harm animals is also likely to escalate their actions into harming another human.
By concluding thusly, you have demonstrated an inability to comprehend the content of my posts.

By concluding, thusly, you have demonstrated an inability to contain a pompous attitude.

It wasn't directed at anyone solely and, no thanks, I don't need to be referred back. :)

If anything from your posts it's that you're very paranoid about people directing posts at you when they're not.

I don't think you've really followed the chain of events in this thread too well, either that or you've posted the dumbest post on this thread, and that is quite an achievement.

I have a penchant for burmese snakes, too but they're of the woman variety. Rendered a defenceless kitten for their lovin. Subsquently gets devoured

His murders have NOTHING to do with peoples' reactions to this specific thread. (At least with what's being discussed since I revived it€. I understand what you're trying to say, but it just isn't relevant to what I'm discussing.

I am not discussing the morality of this man, rather that of various posters on this thread.

The only thing I can say is that this is more fuel to the notion that people who enjoy hurting animals are capable of doing the same to humans.

Dear R.bin the same mirror neurons invovled in empathy in pain are active in those who hurt animals and those who hurt humans. Ie those capable of lack of empathy in one species are certainly capable of the same lack of empathy in humans.

how about the people who only read the first page read the last few pages of the thread so that they know that since the kitten incident(s) they guy has now tortured, killed, dismembered and fcuked the corpse of his ex boyfriend and posted some of the body parts to people in canada?

How about the guys who didnt see it as indicative as a sick mind that the guy took pleasure in the suffering of another animal.

Aye, that guy is a total psyco... Its the stuff of movies... First they begin by torturing helpless animals. When that becomes too easy, they move to larger and more dangerous prey...

Luka Rocco Magnotta has been arrested in Berlin, a major German newspaper says.

The 29-year-old Canadian wanted for a horrific Montreal murder was arrested in an Internet cafe, according to Bild.

The report comes just as French authorities said they were investigating the theory that Magnotta travelled from Paris to Berlin via bus.

The National Post has not independently confirmed the report.

I've seen it reported on BBC's twitter page also, must be some truth to it.

This is going to be one interesting case. AH's dream case one would suspect.

what is the difference with feeding the snake a rat of a similar size?

  • Registered Users Posts: 186 ✭✭omgitsthelazor

Would it be as 'horrific' if it was a live rat.
We eat animals that spend their lives in cages.

Cats are domesticated into modern society, I've as much love for a random cat as I would for a random human (who I'd also point out are also animals). No it would not be as horrific were it a species who doesn't co-exist peacefully with humans.

I don't understand people who'd recoil in horror if this story was about a human child but deem it not a big deal if its about a young domesticated species raised to trust humans.

don't get me wrong, i'm not a vegetarian by any means, in fact i've killed and eaten fish, rabbits and pheasants in the past growing up and i LOVE meat and would never give it up. i'm never happier with food than I am with a big piece of animal meat on my plate and anything else is just there for decoration as far as i'm concerned.

    Read this as "peasants" first.
Was thinking "ah that's going a bit too far now".
