Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Closest bus to Harvey Norman/shops on Cork Rd?

    Hi,

I'm wondering if anybody knows the closest bus route to the shops out by Harvey Norman/B&Q etc?

Ive applied for a job out there and although I dont know if ive got it yet, I still want to be prepared. All I can think of is the bus to WIT and then walking out there (nightmare).

The other idea is get the Tramore bus (where I'm from) and getting off at Superquinn and walking all the way out there past the sports stadium, WIT, all the factories etc. That would be hell, especially on wet winter mornings.

Any ideas? Any knowledge of near buses going out there?

    Thanks in advance.

as far as i remember the bus that goes to WIT (or one of them anyway) keeps going up that road and turns left into ballybeg just after Hasbro. There's a bus stop just a few yards after that turn which wouldn't leave a hugely long walk.

Thanks, Ill check that out with bus eireann. Would it be a bus eireann bus or a private one do you know? Does it leave from the city centre?

Sorry for all the questions, theres just so many buses these days, it gets confusing.

The 'Imp' little mini bus goes out past Hasbro.

It's bus eireann. It goes from the city centre or at least it did when I used to get it and I assume it still does. It goes all the way up the mall so you could get the Tramore one and stop anywhere from say the social welfare offices on and just cross the road. The WIT bus starts from the quay and stops at around three or four places along the mall and up the cork rd. The stop by the Morris' might be the best bet for you as you can get off just across the road at the social welfare I think. There's probably two buses that mainly go on that route - a browne's road one and a ballybeg one. I'm not sure off their exact name and times etc these days but I'd be shocked if there wasn't one going where you're looking for at least every 20 minutes in the mornings.

Edit: The above post answered your question a lot more concisely than I did! :)

Might be a good idea to do a 'dry run' to see if it does go out that way and how long it would take you to get to work.
