Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am currently in the process of getting prices for my build. I am going with Ground source Geothermal and UFH.

Is there any way of putting UFH downstairs and rads upstairs off Geo? I know one runs off a low grade heat soruce and the other a high grade. Do I have to look at another heat source for the Rads?

You can use the geo to heat upstairs either by over sizing the rads or by using fan convectors (fan coils) there are pros and cons to both methods, but if you Google a bit you will find info on both.

You should use convector rads. Oversized aluminium or standard rads don't really cut it when it comes to running a geothermal system efficiencly. Also, because you have no thermal mass in rads, you will need to fit a buffer tank to prevent the compressor from cycling to frequently.
See the other thread on this page relating to the problems that that would cause.
