Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,

Thinking of getting surround sound to go along with a tele i bought last year. The tele is a 42" plasma HD. TBH i have been reading the argos catalogue and i dont know where to start.

    i am thinking dolby 5.1

Can someone please direct me to a site for info or advise me.

    Thank you as always....

Why do you think you need it or want it e.g. for watchin TV or watchin movies via DVD or Bluray player or ?

You then need to decide based on budget whether you want an all-in-one type set-up or to buy each piece separately?

I only ask as most of what is on TV is Stereo and therefore you do not get the surround sound benefit most of the time. If your TV speakers are poor, it could be worth it and if you do watch movies even on Sky you should get surround sound by connecting an optical cable from the Sky box to the system (system needs to have optical input) and enabling it in the Sky menu, this will mean you get surround sound when available.

Now some shows do provide Dolby Digital (DD) Stereo and this can usually be expanded to surround sound by the surround system.

You could ask for some suggestions on the Richersounds forum on here, or else just ask in some shops for suggestions, and then don't buy until you do your reseach.

Some recent deals in that forum, FYI:
